With ageing servers it was necessary to refresh both hardware and server operating systems. The refresh included the upgrades to:
Active Directory to 2012
Primary File/Print Server to Server 2012
Line of Business SQL Server to Server 2008R2 and SQL 2008
Upgrade of RDS Server to Server 2008R2
With a current investment in Exchange 2007 it was decided that at this time until the opportunity presented to move to an Office 365 hosted service the platform would be moved to 2007.
Development of Desktop SOE for laptop and desktop machines including development of Deployment platform and associated SOE standards and deployment guides.
As a part of the Infrastructure refresh Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 platform was employed allowing for the consolidation of server hardware.
Proactive Support and Maintenance
- Trimble Networks is viewed as the IT division for Simmonds and Bristow. Responsible for live monitoring, maintenance, reporting and strategic planning for the delivery of business systems. Leveraging the support and management platforms our specialised support staff are able to provide seamless remote support to the users.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Leveraging Storagecraft's Shadow Protect products backups of all core systems are taken every 2 hours providing file level, full system and virtual recovery of systems.
